conference description
Operation Train Up a Woman (OTUAW) is a spiritual boot camp designed to equip and recalibrate women towards the biblical model of discipleship. OTUAW helps women take ownership of God’s mandate to make disciples by embracing the full challenge of the Great Commission, which includes generational discipleship and a deeper understanding of the Kingdom of God. It also equips women to shift their ministries from learning environments to discipleship communities. The conference includes keynote messages, small groups, and training workshops.
about our speaker
Susie Walther is the founder of The Well Training Ministry, Inc., a discipleship-centric training ministry for women. Her ministry encompasses over 30 years of writing, teaching, and mentoring women through trainings, Bible studies, and one-on-one coaching. Susie believes every woman really matters. If each woman would embrace the whole Gospel of the Kingdom of God and allow it preeminence in her life, she would become the difference that’s needed in her marriage, parenting, church, workplace, and world. Susie became a follower of Jesus in her early twenties while stationed in Germany with the U.S. Army. Susie and her husband Bob live in Tampa, FL and have two adult daughters.
workshops
At registration you will choose three of the following workshops:
Emotionally Healthy Discipleship
What does it truly mean to disciple others in a way that fosters both spiritual growth and emotional maturity? In this workshop, we will explore the essential role of emotional intelligence in cultivating meaningful, sustainable discipling relationships. You will leave with greater insight into unhealthy patterns that can sabotage your discipleship and gain practical tools to build relationships that are both spiritually grounded and emotionally healthy.
Encountering God Through the Power of Prayer
Prayer is one of God’s greatest gifts, yet most believers never experience its full power. This workshop will
move you past surface-level prayer into genuine, a transformative encounter with God. Through Scripture and practical application, you will discover how to build a prayer-saturated life that produces real intimacy with Him and lasting change in you. Growing in prayer will not only deepen your personal walk with God but also equip you to lead others into the same powerful, life-giving connection with Him.
Helping Women Develop Intimacy with God through His Word
Many Christian women are spiritually starving and stagnant because they don’t have a habit of spending timein God’s Word. This workshop explores what spiritual hunger looks like, and how to help women overcomethe hurdles that keep them away from regulartime in God’s Word. This foundational habit helps us experiencetransformation in our own lives and prepares us to help other women experience the same.
Helping Women Grow in Intimacy with a God They Struggle to Trust
Many women long for intimacy with God but feel distant and don’t know why. Often, the issue isn’t lack of effort, but rather skewed core beliefs about the nature of God. When God’s love and trustworthiness aren’t deeply rooted in the heart, intimacy can’t grow. In this workshop, we’ll discuss some of the common misconceptions women have about God and replace them with truth, while also sharing practical exercisesthat help cultivate authentic intimacy.
Redefined: Identity Driven by Christ
When our lives are surrendered to King Jesus, our identity is no longer defined by who we once were. It’s defined by who we are in Christ. Our belief about our identity impacts our self-image, relationships, parenting etc., and it impacts how we disciple others. This workshop will tackle what it truly means to live from our new identity in Christ–moving beyond old labels and stepping into truth and will equip you with practical tools to help others do the same.
It Takes All Kinds: UnderstandingTemperament to Disciple Women Well
The women we disciple aren’t difficult, they’re just wired differently. Some shut down when you push, others dominate the conversation, still others need a week to decide on something that takes you 30 seconds. Understanding temperament is the key to navigating our differences, so we can experience less frustrationand more connection. This workshop will help you understand why the women you disciple think, feel, and respond the way they do, and how to use that knowledge to become a more effective, patient, and perceptive discipler.
Surrendered Living: Embracing Christ’s Lordship
Many women love Jesus but still struggle to let Him lead in every area of their lives. This workshop equips both ministry leaders and individuals to recognize and address the “Lordship issues” that hinder spiritual growth. Participants will learn practical, biblical ways to live in full surrender, allowing Christ’s authority to bring freedom, clarity, direction, and lasting transformation.
