In this video, Ivy reflects on the biblical story of Mary and Martha and the tension so many of us feel between work and rest in our faith journey. In a culture that celebrates productivity and constant busyness, it’s easy to believe that doing more automatically means we’re being faithful.
But Jesus gently reminds us that while laboring for God’s Kingdom is good, sitting at His feet—seeking Him first—is what matters most. Like Mary and Martha, we are called to discern our seasons, recognizing when to serve and when to slow down, so busyness doesn’t crowd out intimacy with Jesus.
This is an invitation to examine our rhythms, our priorities, and our hearts—choosing presence over pressure and devotion over distraction.
